Our 10 Dimensional Universe

The new theory that has swept the scientific community is commonly called the "Grand Unified Theory".

To begin, scientists have come up with something else, call Quantum Theory. Closely related to this is an interresting idea. To better understand, imagine a photon. It exists in our three dimensional universe as a photon. It also exists in our four dimensional universe because it has velocity, which, being expressed as distance travelled per unit time, implies that it must.

Not only does it exist as a moving particle that we can detect, it also has an undulating energy wave that represents its energy. We detect its shadow in our three/four dimensional universe as electro-magnetic (EM) radiation. How can a particle, moving in a straight line, also display properties of waves?

Well, the theory states that not only does this photon exist as we see, but also extends into a ten dimensional universe. This hypothesis is called the superstring theory. According to this, every particle also has a one dimensional "string" that extends into the fifth dimension. This string "vibrates" according to the energy and frequency of the EM radiation associated with the particle. It vibrates "into" the sixth dimension for both the E and M radiations, as both are always in perfect sync.

That concludes the string theory portion, but there are still some attributes of particles that must exist somewhere. Well, everything has a velocity, and the existing of this attribute lies in the seventh, eight, and ninth dimensions (one for each of our three dimensions). And, lastly, in accordance with Einstein's theories, a one dimensional "magnitude vector", representing gravitational attraction, extends into the tenth.

Hope that clears things up. Just a little disclaimer, though:

DISCLAIMER:

No information in this document is guaranteed for validity. There are two primary reasons for this: 1) our theories of the universe are under constant change and refinement; and 2) I read this out of an encyclopedia printed in 1986, and have recalled this totally from memory. My memory is not perfect.
